“Second chance”: Nothing in life is completely finished
Seborga 27/07/2024 - 30/09/2024
GalleriaGalleria is pleased to announce its first collaboration together with Morten Angelo, an
eclectic figure in the Danish art and entertainment scene. The exhibition aspires to make the
artist's point of view perceived and understood through the reinterpretation to new life of
elements considered unusable, no longer welcome.
Refinement has always been the important focal point.
Nothing in life is completely finished, everything can always be improved and adjusted. Whether it is the white canvas or effects I encounter on my way, there is always an opportunity to process it. And that also applies to myself:
We all deserve a "Second Change".
Maybe for something better, at least for something else. My art is a suggestion of that
I came to Seborga for the first time in 2013, in search of a project that would provide a framework for my family and I. A project in the form of an extra home in Italy. The fascination of Montenero and Bordighera was immediate, so much nature, beauty and good food in one place, so I settled here.
However, there was something that constantly puzzled me
As a Dane, I was brought up with a very ingrained culture of cleaning up after myself. A culture which is different from the Italian culture. Amidst all the beauty in this area, I constantly found “trash” left behind. Left on the side of the road, in the forest, on the beach, on the mountain and on private grounds. Old cars that will never drive again, rusty refrigerators, useless building materials. Everything that should be at a waste station, possibly for recycling
That's my opinion and no one has to agree.
Over the last few years, I have collected some of the old junk I encountered on my way. Rusty iron
and old glass from disused greenhouses. Abandoned worn-out building materials.
I have tried to give it a new life. Tried refining it into something else. Tried to tell a different story
Perhaps an artistic interpretation of rubbish that is just thrown out in society. A story that can hopefully give food for thought.
Hope you receive my comment and my art.
/ GalleriaGalleria is a traveling artistic project that explores the connections between space,
memory, and narration through installations, performances, and various forms of art.
GalleriaGalleria was conceived between two locations a quarter of the globe apart, New York
and Seborga. Sarah Possamai and Giacomo Carassale are the creators, and our mission is to
bring art to remote places, fueling meaningful dialogues between art and the people it
encounters.
