“Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town”
LA VITA LENTA NELLA CAMPAGNA TOSCANA
in mostra a Fiesole 35 grandi foto in bianco e nero di Douglas Gayeton
Una prestigiosa mostra di 35 foto in bianco e nero elaborate con una tecnica originale ed esclusiva da Douglas Gayeton - regista e fotografo di S.Francisco (USA) - sulle usanze e tradizioni che fanno parte della cultura italiana. Foto uniche nel loro genere perché realizzate con l’originale tecnica di Gayeton che monta per ognuna una multiserie
di fotogrammi che immortalano i momenti di vita quotidiana della gente e dei luoghi toscani e sulle quali scrive il racconto di quei momenti.
E’ il primo evento organizzato da Fiesole Futura - associazione a carattere apartitico e senza fini di lucro - che si prefigge di promuovere attività culturali, sociali e del tempo libero favorendo il dialogo, l’incontro ed il confronto della cultura
fiesolana con le altre e diverse realtà e culture.
Grazie al grandissimo successo che ha avuto il libro “Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town” le foto di Gayeton stanno facendo il giro del mondo: la mostra oltre Los Angeles ha avuto già altre destinazioni, Fiesole la ospiterà dall’11 al 30 settembre 2010 nella nuova sala espositiva di Piazza Mino, proprio sotto il Comune di Fiesole.
Nell’occasione si svolgeranno altri importanti eventi: una mostra mercato di produttori e prodotti alimentari e artigianali di alta qualità, una bancarella di libri sul cibo e le tradizioni locali, uno spettacolo musicale di Barbara Casini, la presenza e gli interventi di produttori-attori, oltre alla proiezione del film “Terra Madre” di Ermanno Olmi che ci ricorda come tutto quello che riguarda il nostro cibo e la nostra alimentazione ha origine dal lavoro della terra.
L’allestimento della mostra è curato da Lilli Bacci, art director, stylist e visual merchandiser fiesolana che lavora a Milano, che all’interno della mostra ha previsto anche la proiezione del video curato da Pier Giorgio Provenzano e realizzato per la presentazione del libro negli Stati Uniti che documenta lo straordinario lavoro di Gayeton sulle immagini.
“Il dono di questo lavoro - scrive Carlo Petrini Fondatore e Presidente Internazionale di Slow Food a proposito delle foto di Gayeton in mostra - sta nella profondità con cui ci introduce alla vita lenta della gente comune. Le fotografie e le parole sono innegabilmente ricche e autentiche, e non poteva che essere fatto da qualcuno con una profonda sensibilità e comprensione che va oltre i confini delle nazioni e lingue, e che rappresenta i principi al centro del movimento Slow Food. Attraverso questo insolito ritratto di una comunità toscana, arriviamo a capire che vivere lentamente, una volta appreso, si può fare ovunque.”
La mostra sarà inaugurata sabato 11 settembre 2010 alle ore 18 in piazza Mino, nella sala sotto il Comune di Fiesole.
