ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2023 -| 6TH EDITION
ITSLIQUID Group is pleased to announce the opening of the 6th edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2023, international exhibition of photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture and performance art, that will be held in Rome, at Medina Art Gallery from February 10 to February 23, 2023.
Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento
ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2023 is a contemporary art fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. The 6th edition will represent a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers, and art professionals. The art fair features paintings, sculptures, photography art, installations, video art and live performance.
The exhibition analyzes the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times, through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES. MIXING IDENTITIES focuses on the human body as a changing system connected to other bodies and spaces, and analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through the fascinating universe of the labyrinths of our consciousness. FUTURE LANDSCAPES is about the concept of borders and structures between body, mind and soul, the human identity and the city, the space and the ground.
Marina Kerbidi is one of the artists who hold and enrich the main concept of the first section with her photograph "Amati", through which she speaks of black beauty in the present. In her opinion, the photo is the perfect medium, like the painter's brush, offering the possibility of putting the desired expression into images. With a different medium, Orfey Grünberg presenting "Emotion 78 (E78)", uses abstract painting as a way of expressing our hidden parts and consciousness. He synthesizes emotions by emphasizing the colors and texture of the paintings. His works are distinguished by the multi-layered and volume of the compositions, combining the colors from the palette, and the three-dimensional effect adds a feeling of uniqueness.
Also the Canadian-born artist Raine Storey uses paintings to express herself, fusing consciousness with the subconscious, in an uplifting yet calming manner. Storey’s work is known for its unapologetic humor within intellectually clever compositions, through the use of negative space she demonstrates that the art of omission is just as important as articulation, as we can see in “Essence of grandeur”.
During the 6th Edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR, various artists propose works presenting abstract, infinite, and conceptual landscapes, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Spaces redefine our limits and boundaries, transforming surfaces in an open flow of pure ideas. Is this the case of Pawel Opalinski, from Poland, who presents some works from his series "War in the 5th dimension" through innovative forms of photographic expression. His research interests include the emotions of the recipient of a visual message in which, as the creator, he interacts through a specific code, calculated and shaped for a specific purpose. The series "War in the 5th dimension" is a photographic vision of emotions accompanying wars, gathered and recorded on the branches of the timeline - in a place called by scientists the fifth dimension - where it is possible to combine light matter, that is everything that we can observe in the universe, with dark matter.
Ties van Brussel and John Giannatos express their ideas about the future landscape. The black and white photographs of John Giannatos have a strong narrative character and borrow elements of the cinematic language, resulting in the telling of small stories, like very short films, that belong to an unspecified time. Ties van Brussel presents some pictures taken in Japan in 2017. These scenes, which explore the intercourse between colors and composition, were just there on live display: instead of having to paint or draw them, it now took him only one click with his camera to find the aesthetic he was searching for. Thanks to this series we can enjoy his obsessive love for the hunt for the involuntary beauty of the backstreets and alleyways of Asian cities. In addition to the group exhibition, we will also host a collection of video art created by artists from around the world during ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR - 6th Edition (see video-and-performance-program-rome-international-art-fair-6th).
