Federico Severino
Benedizione del nuovo Altare e del Pulpito in bronzo
Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento
We are glad to invite you to the Great Event that will take place on Thursday 25th October 2009 at 10.30 a.m. in the Pantheon, in Rome. There will be a benediction of the new "Altar" and "Pulpit" totally realized in bronze by Federico Severino, in order to celebrate 1400 years since the 7th century, during which the building had turned into the Roman Catholic church dedicated to "St. Mary and the Martyrs".
On that occasion, inside the church area, the artist will hold a personal exhibition of his latest works that will last until the 7th of january.
The Pantheon is one of the best preserved of all Roman buildings , originally built by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome, and rebuilt in the early 2nd century AD. The building is circular with a portico of three ranks of huge granite Corinthian columns (eight in the first rank and two groups of four behind) under a pediment opening into the rotunda, under a coffered, concrete dome, with a central opening (oculus) open to the sky.
