  1. I am in England and I came across this picture which I really liked.
It’s called Horse at the gallop I think by Perelli Cippo.
Don’t know much about it , is it possible to tell me more ?
It says Carboncino 5 – Perelli series.

  2. Giancarlo Perelli Cippo was born in Milan in 1923. He was introduced to painting by Gino Moro and Arturo Checchi, his teachers at the Brera Art School. On a classical basis, through personal research, he brought his painting to an intense expressiveness, managing to capture a singular figural vision with a happy chromatic synthesis. While still young, he received his first invitations to the Biennials of Sacred Art at the Angelicum and to the Quadrennials in Rome. He won prizes and awards in numerous painting competitions in Brescia, Bergamo, Turin, in 1953 the “Paesaggio della Lomellina” Prize, in 1977 the “Burano Prize”. The places frequented and loved by the artist have become part of his creative heritage: Milan, with the dock, the canals, San Siro and the running horses; Venice with its lagoon and the poetic islands of Burano and Torcello; the Tuscan landscape, the coastal towns of Lake Como and Lake Garda, the banks of the rivers of the Lombardy plain; the masterly views of Amsterdam with its canals. In 1976 a monograph of the Milanese artist was published, presented by Ermanno Federico Scopinich. His works have been permanently exhibited at the Galleria Ponte Rosso since 1977, the year of the artist’s first solo exhibition in this Milanese venue. Authoritative commentators have written about him; among them we remember: Leonardo Borgese, Raffaele De Grada, Ermanno Federico Scopinich, Mario Ghilardi, Luigi Gianoli, Angelo Caniggia, Carmelo Strano, Mario Monterverdi, Giulio Vito Musitelli, Gianni Brera, Silvio Consadori, Giuseppe Novello, Orlando Consonni. Giancarlo Perelli Cippo died in Milan in 2004.
