Women in Louvre, the first-ever exhibition dedicated exclusively to women artists within the Salon International d’Art Contemporain at the Carrousel du Louvre, has just concluded with remarkable success.
Organized and curated by Art Queens Gallery, this inaugural edition drew the attention of collectors, curators, VIPs, and journalists from around the world — with artworks being admired and collected from the very first day. The exhibition became more than an art show; it became a cultural moment.
Held as part of the Salon International d’Art Contemporain, a Parisian tradition running for over 31 years, this year marked a historic milestone — the first time a full exhibition within the salon was curated entirely to celebrate the voices and visions of women artists.
The show featured 18 powerful female artists from across the globe, each bringing a unique voice, medium, and story. Together, they created a collective dialogue exploring themes of identity, resilience, nature, memory, and transformation.
“Women in Louvre is more than an exhibition — it’s a movement to recognize women in art,” said Salma Eltoukhy, founder of Art Queens Gallery. “For too long, female artists have been underrepresented in museums, history books, and everywhere. It’s time to give the living ones a better future.”
The exhibition was met with overwhelming praise, both in the press and by the audience.
In artist interviews during the event, many shared the same sentiment: “It was a dream come true.”
With this first edition, Art Queens Gallery reaffirms its mission to support, promote, and elevate women in the art world — not only by creating space but by rewriting what that space can look like.
Exhibiting Artists:
Agus Ronconi, Aina Putnina, Ambo Makoto, Angela Thouless, Annica Hallman, Annick Van Barneveld, Carina Evelina Johnsrud, Carla Anselmi, Emma Harrison, Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso, Jenny Hovnor, Katrin Gross, Keariene Muizz, Lauren Jackson, Monika Kovatsch, Pepa Sanz Alarcón, Samantha Lee (VY), Tatyana Shvartsakh
