As part of the organisation’s ongoing international exchange programme, David Dale Gallery are honoured to curate O-n, a solo exhibition of new work by Glasgow based artist Lauren Gault. The exhibition, hosted by The Workbench (Milan), will be a site-specific installation considering the past and present functions of the space and how these multiplicities can exist in tandem. Developed through the distinct writings of Martha Craig and Manuel De Landa, the exhibition reflects on ideas of material travel and dissolve, in addition to how the inherent language of spaces can be adjusted or expanded upon.

The exhibition, curated by David Dale Gallery, Glasgow, is part of an ongoing series of organisational exchanges initiated by David Dale Gallery. The project is preceded by exchanges with Swimming Pool, Sofia and SALTS, Birsfelden, and will be followed by an exchange with Rupert, Vilnius in 2019/20. The Workbench presented a solo exhibition by Milan based artist Mirko Canesi in November 2018, as the initial part of this exchange.

Lauren Gault (b. Belfast, Northern Ireland,1986) lives and works in Glasgow. Recent exhibitions include present cOmpany, CCA Derry~Londonderry, Northern Ireland (2018); sequins, (with Sarah Rose), Glasgow International, Scotland (2018); lumpers and splitters, Prairie Underground, Seattle, U.S.A (2017); ØY Festival, Papa Westray, Orkney, Scotland (2017); The Surface of Shrimp – The Gesture of Soap, UVE Collection, Berlin, Germany (2017); STEM, Lauren Gault and Sarah Rose, Baltic39, Newcastle, England (2017) he was there when I first smelled the smell, and now he is the smell, (with Zoe Claire Miller), Rinomina, Paris, France (2016); lipstick-NASA, Temporary Commission, Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh, Scotland (2015).

Current and upcoming projects include drye eyes, Grand Union, Birmingham (2019) and the Freelands Artist Programme at Gasworks, London (2019 – 2020).

The Workbench International è lieta di presentare O-n mostra personale dell’artista scozzese Lauren Gault curata da David Dale Gallery, Glasgow. L’esibizione, elaborata nella forma di un'installazione site-specific, prende forma considerando le funzioni presenti e passate dello spazio e come queste molteplicità possano co-esistere in tandem. Sviluppata attraverso gli scritti più rappresentativi di Martha Craig e Manuel De Landa, la mostra riflette sull’idea di viaggio fisico per poi dissolversi nella grammatica intrinseca dello spazio espositivo e infine adattarsi o ampliarsi.

La mostra, curata dalla David Dale Gallery di Glasgow, fa parte di una serie ininterrotta di scambi istituzionali avviata da David Dale Gallery. Il progetto è stato preceduto da collaborazioni con Swimming Pool, Sofia e SALTS, Birsfelden, e sarà seguito da uno scambio con Rupert, Vilnius, nel 2019/20. Presso David Dale Gallery, The Workbench ha presentato una mostra personale dell'artista milanese Mirko Canesi nel novembre 2018.
