Nicola Genovese – Darker with the day
INTERNO4 prosegue con i suoi appuntamenti, ed è lieto di invitarvi a “Darker with the day” un intervento di Nicola Genovese.
Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento
INTERNO 4 presenta:
Nicola Genovese
Darker with the day
Nicola Genovese (1971) è nato a Dolo, Venezia. Vive e lavora Padova.

Darker with the day
Nicola Genovese (1971) was born in Dolo, Venice. He lives and works in Padua.
Nicola Genovese's work is based on a practice of collecting, in way to nourish it and determine it at once, with deep consequences in terms of poetic, where new value conferred to found objects, characteristic of his production, remains a central element.
through the artistic process, Genovese triggers a mechanism of accumulation and assemblage of elements which seem to be lacking of reciprocal connections, in order to give them a second opportunity, a new life.in order to bring the materials he uses to a new life,.
The works can be seen as result of two different, although coherent procedures.
The former is based on the recycling of old, only apparently trivial, images, upon which he played with minimal and partially ironic interventions. the latter is placed upon the level of meaning and as direct result of reissuing shapes. Simple objects, which have a strong and immediate everyday connotation, are invested of new power of suggestion, and as they are still capable to evoke familiar images, they become able to blur the boundaries and to stimulate a new perception in the viewer.
" It happens to me, and more and more often, to travel over streets I don't remember.
I have the conviction that a certain crossroad or roundabout where not in that place the day before.
there it is, at last, the shrunken pole, the pole which is still there, now i can calm down.
The daylight doesn't make you feel always safe, and honestly, I always feel as I was fighting in a war, especially when I look at the neighbour who repaints the railing.
I stay at home, I sit, I flip through a magazine but I don't recognize the pictures.
I turn on the light in way to see it better, but everything is even more confused. "
