Segnala l'evento
Twenty-five years ago the PR China was a potential market for the expanding Western economical powers. Today, China herself is one of the strongest economical global players. The fate of contemporary Chinese art is bound to this development: In the 1980s, first exhibitions of contemporary Chinese art in the West were mainly organised by sinologists,
Diplomats or travellers, and attracted only a small public. Today contemporary artists from China are featured in major exhibitions and high-profile institutions world-wide. They constitute a vital factor in the international art scene. The interest in and the market for contemporary Chinese art are booming. But there is more to contemporary Chinese art than the image we usually perceive on art fairs or in auction houses. Chinese contemporary art is as diverse as vital. The exhibition "Onda Anomalia" wants to show another facet of this kind of art. The show features eight artists of Chinese origin stemming from three different generations and living either in China or abroad. They are: Cao Fei, H.H. Lim, Wang Du, Xu Tan, Yan Pei-Ming, Yang Jiechang, Zheng Guogu. The exhibition conceives of the art works as a keyword for the understanding of the large scale of creation and complexity of contemporary Chinese art.
