Sapore di Mare
Mare Karina is pleased to present a new exhibition of limited edition artists posters, design brands and a curated library, in collaboration with “Sapore di Mare” Festival.
Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento
Sapore di Mare, founded by Victoria Genzini, is a contemporary art festival that has been held for four years on the first weekend of July on the beach of Forte Dei Marmi. Hosted by Bagno Alle Boe, the festival revolves around a public program of talks with curators, collectors, and artist residencies, a beach exhibition and a series of workshops for children led by artists, designers and publishers.
This summer, Mare Karina collaborates with Sapore di Mare to produce the festival in Tuscany, and hosts a temporary exhibition in the heart of Venice. The 2024 edition of Sapore di Mare explores photography as a medium of contemporary art. At Mare Karina, the exhibition will include limited edition artist posters by a selection of internationally emerging and established artists such as Rene Matić, Maurizio Anzeri, Brett Lloyd, Riccardo Maria Chiacchio, and Bea De Giacomo. It will also feature contemporary Venice-based artists like Matteo de Mayda and Clelia Cadamuro.
Throughout the exhibition, Mare Karina's contemporary space becomes a showcase also for Italian designers. It will include design lamps and vases made with Murano glass by 6:AM Glassworks, and it will host the indie milanese brand Lessico Familiare with its new capsule resort collection days after the fashion show at the Tuscan festival.
Finally the gallery will present the Open Library: a curated selection for enthusiasts of visual culture, photography, and graphic design, where the public can explore and purchase a selection of magazines and editorial projects. Among the magazines for sale there will be new realities like Coriandoli, Sali & Tabacchi and émergent magazine; Venice-born like Radical and II Magazine; and established like Mousse. The books section will include limited editions from the curators' personal library, acclaimed publications by SKIRA and MACK, independent titles from the Milanese publisher Self Publish Be Happy and many more.
The exhibition, library and shop remain open from July 13 until August 25, and all proceedings from the sale of the posters will go 100% to the artists.
