FuturDome is pleased to announce Stabilizing Havens, open studios by Silvia Hell (Bolzano, 1983) and Matteo Pizzolante (Lecce, 1989), who are hosting artists Margherita Morgantin and Italo Zuffi (Imola, 1969) on the occasion of Milano Art Week.

Stabilizing Havens, reflects the condition of a hypothetical place-state of instability, sustained by structures that can never support it. Although it simultaneously may represent a safe haven for the occupants -even temporary- of the spaces, it is through them that the instability of a shelter may transmute into a Third place, one that welcomes man beyond its margins.


Silvia Hell (Bolzano, 1983). Her work takes the form of sculpture, photography, site-specific installations, time-based media and interdisciplinary projects. Her research unfolds via actions and ways of thinking, establishing forms of tension through methods ranging from the conventional objectivity of the point of reference to original models for the presentation and formalisation of reality. Her interest lies in analysing and processing various languages, information and public data. Hell completed her studies in painting at the Brera Academy in Milan. Matteo Pizzolante (Lecce, 1989). He graduated in Construction Engineering in 2012, and later He studied in the Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera under the guidance of Vittorio Corsini. He completed his studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden with Wilhelm Mundt and Carsten Nicolai. Among his recent participations are the group exhibitions: Farewell to the Stage – Tools for Reassembly, curated by Arnold Braho, Questo (non) è un museo, curated by Ramdom, Kora – Centro del Contemporaneo (LE); Leggere gravità – Nucrè, II Edition, curated by Arechi Invernizzi, Trullo Rubina, Ceglie Messapica (LE); Chì ghe pù Nissun! at Fondazione Elpis, Milan, in collaboration with Ramdom; as well as his solo exhibitions Sapeva le forme delle nubi at Kora, Centro del Contemporaneo (LE), and La linea che ci divide dal domani, curated by Atto Belloli Ardessi, at FuturDome, Milan. In 2024, he was a finalist for the FBZ Art Award 2024 at the Forschungs- und Behandlungszentrum für psychische Gesundheit in Bochum, the 23rd Cairo Prize, and winner of the residency project promoted by Heimann Stiftung. He is also the winner of the Jaguart Milano prize, organized by Artissima, and the Vanni Autofocus10 International Award. He has participated in the projects Q-Rated, Ricerche sensibili, and Panorama, both promoted by La Quadriennale, Rome.

Margherita Morgantin is an italian visual artist born in Venice who lives and works in Milan. She graduated in Architecture at the I.U.A.V. Department of Technical Physics, studying methods of forecasting of natural light. Her work is articolated through different languages, ranging from drawing and installation to performance, and moving on a thread that connects language, philosophy, mathematics and visual culture. Contact and cohabitation, observation and imagination, are the open intervals that characterize the work of Morgantin. She has contributed to many group shows and festivals in Italy and abroad. She published the books of short texts and drawings: Titolo variabile (Quodlibet 2009), Agenti autonomi e sistemi multiagente (with Michele Di Stefano) (Quodibet 2012), Wittgenstein (Nottetempo 2016), Lo spazio dentro (with Maddalena Buri) (Nottetempo e-pub 2020), Sotto la montagna sopra la montagna, cronache, nottempo 2021; Artemide’s/di Artemide + Lerosa chronicles, Quodlibet 2023. She also released the LP COSMIC SILENCE 5, fluorescence 4 with Ilaria Lemmo and Beatrice Goldoni for the Xong collection – artists records (Xing 2022).She teaches artistic anatomy, semiology of the body, at Accademy of Fine Arts Brera, Milano.

Italo Zuffi (Imola, 1969) lives and works in Milan. A visual artist, he trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and the Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. In 2001 he received the ‘Wheatley Bequest Fellowship in Fine Art (Sculpture)’ at the Institute of Art & Design, School of Art, Birmingham (UK). He teaches Sculpture Techniques at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He has also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila, at the Free University of Bolzano and, from 2011 to 2019, he was Visiting Lecturer in Performance at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. His work has been exhibited in public and private spaces, amongst which: MAMbo and Palazzo De’ Toschi, Bologna (2022); MAXXI L’Aquila (2021); Quadriennale, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome; Swiss Institute of Milano; ar/ge kunst, Bolzano (2016); MAN, Nuoro (2015); Vleeshal, Middelburg (2011); Salzburger Kunstverein, Salzburg (2006); Fondazione VOLUME!, Rome (2005); De Appel, Amsterdam (1999).
