La MIRTO srl ha avviato un programma di eventi culturali per la valorizzazione di Castello di Postignano.

Nel 2012 e 2013 si sono svolte la prima e la seconda edizione di “Un Castello all’orizzonte”, alle quali hanno partecipato artisti di fama internazionale; la terza edizione si svolgerà tra giugno e ottobre 2014.

La MIRTO srl intende sviluppare ulteriormente il rapporto tra Castello di Postignano e l’arte contemporanea, invitando gli artisti a presentare un progetto di opera d’arte visuale da realizzare ed esporre nel borgo.

Le proposte potranno riguardare ogni forma espressiva ma dovranno tener conto che Castello di Postignano, per le sue straordinarie caratteristiche architettoniche, è un borgo vincolato come bene d’interesse storico-artistico; pertanto, la realizzazione delle proposte sarà subordinata all’approvazione della Soprintendenza per i Beni Artistici, Architettonici e Demoantropologici dell’Umbria.

La documentazione dovrà essere costituita da:

1. una cartella A4: descrizione dell’opera e costo richiesto dall’artista, che non dovrà superare i 10.000,00 euro, compreso assicurazioni, trasporto e montaggio nel borgo.

2. due cartelle A3, massimo: documentazione iconografica che illustri le caratteristiche dell’opera, disegni, foto, rendering, ecc), con indicazione di dimensioni, peso, ecc.

3. notizie biografiche del proponente e dati per contattarlo.

La proposta potrà essere consegnata a mano o inviata via posta raccomandata a:

Le proposte dovranno essere recapitate entro il 30 marzo 2014.

La commissione valuterà le proposte entro il 30 aprile 2014. L’esito sarà comunicato all’artista vincitore a mezzo lettera raccomandata e sarà anche inserito sul sito di Castello di Postignano, www.castellodipostignano.com, alla voce news.

La giuria sarà costituita da due rappresentanti della MIRTO srl e da tre esperti di arte contemporanea e sarà resa pubblica il 7 aprile 2014 sul sito della MIRTO srl.

Il progetto vincitore sarà acquistato dalla MIRTO srl e sarà esposto nel borgo a partire dal giugno 2014.

La MIRTO srl resterà proprietaria dell’opera che sarà protetta da copyright.

Call for proposals of a work of visual art

This is a request for proposals of a work of visual art to be exhibited in the medieval hillside borgo, Castello di Postignano, Umbria, Italy, which is owned by MIRTO srl.

All proposals will be judged by a panel composed of two representatives from MIRTO srl and three experts of contemporary art. Their names will be announced on April 7, 2014, on our website www.castellodipostignano.it -news

The price requested by the artist should not exceed 10,000.00 euro, inclusive all, insurance, shipping and installation in the borgo.

Mirto srl has always been interested in promoting cultural events in the borgo in order to strengthen the relationship between Castello di Postignano and the arts.

The first and second editions of the cultural event “A Castle on the Horizon” were held in the borgo in 2012 and 2013, and featured the participation of a number of internationally renowned artists.

The third edition is now in the planning for the period June/October, 2014. Artists are presently being invited to imagine a project for a work of visual art to be exhibited in the borgo.

Works of art can involve any form of expression. Since the borgo is listed as a monument of historical and artistic interest by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of Italy, all proposals will be subject to the approval of the Ministry.

Proposal should be written as follows:

1. One page A4 paper: description of the work of art and the price requested by the artist;

2. Two pages A3 paper, maximum: iconographic presentation, e.g., photos, drawings, renderings, etc., of the proposed work of art and the specification of its dimensions, weight and material;

3. The artist’s c.v. and contact information;

Proposals have to be sent to MIRTO srl by March 30, 2014.

The decision of the jury will be made by April 30, 2014. Their decision will be communicated to the winning artist by a registered letter, and will also be shown on our website.

The winning project will be bought by MIRTO srl, and will be exhibited in Castello di Postignano by June 30, 2014.

MIRTO srl will be the sole owner of the winning work of art, which will be protected by a MIRTO srl copyright.

An exhibit in the borgo accompanied by a catalogue of all submitted projects is in the planning.
