Il gruppo Dearraindrop e Devin and Ian Flynn da Perugi a Padova

La galleria Perugi presenta la nuova personale del gruppo americano Dearraindrop (Laura Grant, Billy Grant e Joe Grillo).
Una mostra dei Dearraindrop è un bazar enciclopedico, che espone tutto quanto di golosamente artificiale si possa supporre di trovare nella cameretta di un teenager, con un bellissimo effetto di caos barbarico, di esaltazione vitale incontenibile. Tutto è possibile nella ricchezza dei magici caleidoscopi che sanno comporre i Dearraindrop, in un tripudio di forme e colori dalle tonalità sature e fluorescenti.
I DRD sono talenti straordinari sbocciati nell’ambito di una creatività autenticamente popolare, che trova la sua prima diffusione tra le pagine ruvide delle fanzine di fumetti, o nel contorno di concerti rock fracassoni. Un coacervo vitalissimo costituito dalle espressioni di una folla di giovani sicuramente abili e dotati, ma interessanti più perché ingrossano, col loro grande numero, la mole di un’“avanguardia di massa” finalmente realizzata, che non per l’effettiva determinazione nell’emergere dall’anonimato.
Nella Project Room sarà presentata la prima personale in Europa di Ian e Devin Flynn. Ian è un raffinato ed esplosivo disegnatore mentre il fratello Devin è un autore di animazioni televisive. Animazioni che sono un vero concentrato di irriverenza e trasgressione (basti pensare che si può accedere alla visione dei suoi video in TV solo se maggiorenni).

A Dearraindrop show is an encyclopaedic bazaar which exhibits everything deliciously artificial which one might expect to find in a teenager’s bedroom, with a fantastic effect of barbaric chaos and irrepressible vital exultation. Anything is possible in the magical kaleidoscopes they create, in a jubilant explosion of forms and saturated fluorescent colours.
DRD are also extraordinary talents who spring from an environment of authentically popular creativity, who found their first publicity in the rough pages of comic fanzines, or in the environment of riotous rock concerts. A very vibrant jumble made up of expressions of a group of creative youngsters, clearly skilled and talented, but more interesting because they enlarge, with their great number, the volume of a “mass avant-garde”, which has finally taken form rather than for the determination to emerge from anonymity.
Indeed DRD are the most exceptional group to emerge from this intricate and vibrant undergrowth.
Into the Project Room there is the first solo show in Europe of Devin and Ian Flynn: Drawings (Ian) and animations (Devin). Ian is an explosive and refined drawer while Devin makes animation for TV. A concentrated of irreverences and transgression (warning: are you over 18 ?).
